Dara looped in midair, coming down to snatch an incredibly lost deer from just south of the pass connecting the forest to the desert. She snapped its neck and lifted it off the sandy ground, flying it back to her cave.

Liam frowned, watching the dragon's actions from a short ways away, where he stood, annoyed, on the desert sand. "Why do I always end up in the middle of nowhere....?" he muttered, deciding to try to reach the cave the dragon had just flown to.

Dara tore into the deer, her sharp teeth ripping it apart quickly as she ate. Within a few moments, the only remants of the creature were a few broken bones Dara had dropped on the floor of the cave.
She stretched and stood, stepping out of the cave and onto the ledge outside. She noticed a young man out in the desert, approaching her cave. She growled and leapt off the ledge, opening her wings to glide down to him.
"Who are you, and why are you coming near my home?" she snarled, landing in front of him.

Liam glared at her, touching his hand to the fang hanging on a string around his neck instinctively. He held it in his hand, backing away a few feet. He wished he'd figured out how to transform at will... he'd only transformed when he was protecting others before...
"My name's Jake," he growled, glaring at her. "I'm trying to find a town that called me to help them out. Unfortunately, every inch of this desert looks the same..." He gestured to the sandy wasteland around them, "So I'm not entirely sure where the heck I am."

"I see," Dara growled. She relaxed, and changed back to her human form in a quick flash of light. "Well, since there's no one else around to help you...." She sighed. "My mentor always taught me to help others when they needed it, if no one else was able to or willing to. Can you transform?"

"Well... not exactly..." Liam said. "I can sometimes, but not necessarily whenever I feel like it."

"Okay, fine, if I have to, I could always carry you- rather not, but.... Anyway, where are you supposed to be going?" Dara asked. "Fayver City? Sanlevel Town?"

"Sanlevel Town. There's something there I've gotta look into...." Liam said. He froze suddenly, the hair on the back of his neck standing up. Something was here, and it wasn't happy. He got the feeling it was after his blood, to be exact... "Don't... move..." he said quietly. "Something... not normal... is here, and.... well, it's deadly."

Dara snorted. She changed into her dragon form in a quick flash of light. "Do you really think I can't handle it??" she scoffed. She turned to look around, but didn't see anything. Suddenly, something slammed into her side, knocking her down and pinning her left wing under her in the process. "Dammit!!"

"Great," Laim muttered. "Saikklyns. Evil little creatures intent on making life less and less wirth living; they feed off people's sorrow. When they get bigger, they feed on flesh and dragonhide." During his brief explanation, he was struggling to get a small throwing knife out of his pack. "Only way to get rid of one.... well, like this...." He cast a quick spell on the knife and threw it at the Saikklyn, stabbing its heart. It shrieked and dissolved, leaving a puddle of blood in it's place. "And now you've seen what I do for a living."

"Thanks," Dara mumbled, changing back to her human form and standing up. "Well, that was interesting, to say the least....."

Calilea wandered the desert, wiping sweat from her brow, she thoguht about flying over the desert but went for the 'human' approch. She twirled a kunai on the tip of her finger and spotted a black dragon overhead and whistled, "Just as well I stayed in human.." She fell, tripping over her.....tail? "Wait.. when the hell did that morph out....?" She returned to full human, well almost, "I relaay need to find a town soon...." She rubbed the gritty sand and placed her cand over her eyes, "Even a ninja needs a rest... espacily a clumsy one like me.."

"I think... it might not be the only one... Someone or something else is nearby, and I don't know if it's good or bad............" Liam mumbled. "I'm hoping good, I thought this would be an easy trip- just a fessyl, no big, town'll be safe in under an hour if I'm lucky.... course we'd run into a saikklyn on the way........."

Calilea pulled out a lap harp and looked around, if she sensed anyone near her she would hide it but since she was alone she wanted to relax a little in this desert. I mean despite her rougush, I mean slightly demonic appeaence with the claws and grey eyes, she was gentle when not in combat.
"Hmm...Not a soul.. maybe a small tune.." Her claws plucked out a rising song from when she was a child. Though the lyrics escaped her, the msic wove around her and she stood, continuing her journey before sensing the dragon on the cliff. She merly softened the tune to a quiet lullaby and slunk past the cave. when she though she was clear, she resumed the fun dance song she was playing before.
OOC: I know I did not metion this but like me... Calilea is learning to play the harp....

Darabell rolled her eyes. "Just a girl, Jake," she explained, gesturing to the girl she'd noticed in the distance. "Looks like she might be heading to the town, too."
